I made this second If/Then City Block puzzle at the same time as the first puzzle. I had originally thought that I might publish both in the same issue, but there was really only room to do one at a time. That's probably a good thing, seeing as how I anticipate that the sections of city represented in each puzzle will get larger over time.
I wanted to experiment with not only different shzpes and sizes of city sections, but also different shapes of city blocks stuck together. Not everything is nice and square, not even in the inspired grid-system city of Chicago.
I relly enjoy creating this type of puzzle, since it is a challenge for me, in that it is very different from the way I normally create puzzles. If you didn't read the first puzzle's Drawing Board, go back and read it to see what I mean. However, I decided to delay making any more of these puzzles until I had a few new tools to help me. Just waht does that mean? Well, you're going to have to wait until the Drawing Board of the Imagine 11.5 May/June issue puzzle is posted for the details.
